The Waste Management Phoenix Open, otherwise known as “The Greenest Show on Grass” or “The People’s Open” is right around the corner. The 2017 tournament will mark the 82nd playing of the event and the eighth as the Waste Management Phoenix Open. This event is the best-attended golf tournament in the world with last year’s tournament breaking three PGA Tour attendance records. A field of 132 players will compete for the $6.7 million purse, the $1,206,000 first-place check and 500 FedExCup points. The Waste Management Phoenix Open will be held on January 30th – February 5th 2017. Hideki Matsuyama Hideki Matsuyama Defending tournament champion Hideki Matsuyama was one of the first to commit to this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open. The 24-year-old currently ranks 6th on the official world golf rankings. Matsuyama is off to a hot start in the 2016-2017 season collecting wins at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions and the Hero World Challenge as well as a second-place finish at the CIMB Classic. J.B. Holmes J.B. HolmesHolmes’ 2011 season was cut short when he was diagnosed with structural defects in the cerebellum and underwent brain surgery to repair Chiari malformations that fall. He was named recipient of the 2016 Ben Hogan Award by the Golf Writers Association of America, in recognition of staying active in golf despite a physical handicap. Holmes has four career PGA Tour wins, including the 2015 Shell Houston Open, the 2014 Wells Fargo Championship, the 2008 and 2006 FBR (Waste Management Phoenix Open.) His current ranking is number 26 on the Official World Golf Ranking. Daniel Berger

Berger was last season's Rookie of the Year after he recorded six top 10s and 13 Top-25 finishes. He played at last year's Waste Management Phoenix Open on a sponsor exemption and finished tied for 10th and placed 1st at the 2016 FedEx St. Jude Classic PGA Tour. Making his second start of the 2016-17 PGA TOUR season, recorded a runner-up finish at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, China, seven shots behind winner Hideki Matsuyama.

Keegan Bradley Keegan BradleyBradley has three career PGA Tour victories, including the 2012 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, the 2011 HP Byron Nelson Championship and the 2011 PGA Championship.
